Payment Policy

Payment for your initial consult session is due in full at least 24 hours before the session.

Payment for training packages is due in full at least 24 hours before the first session of each package.

Payment for single follow up sessions is due in full at least 24 hours before each session.

Payment via Zelle is preferred. Please search for me using 2bdogtraining@gmail.com. Payment via Paypal or other electronic methods will include an extra charge to cover processing fees. Please contact me for an invoice.

Scheduling Policy

Scheduling is first come first served. Use this link to book your initial consult.

On Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays in-person sessions happen near my home in Clinton Hill Brooklyn. On Tuesdays I have a limited number of session times available to travel to client neighborhoods. Please see here for the neighborhoods I serve.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation is required 48 hours before a scheduled virtual appointment or one in person near my home. If I am traveling to your home, cancellation is required 96 hours (4 days) before our appointment. A fee, up to the cost of one session, may be incurred if canceling after those deadlines.

At the discretion of the trainer exceptions may be made in the case of emergencies such as illness or inclement weather.

*The trainer reserves the right to change an appointment to a virtual session in the event of mild illness, weather, or other issues that might impact your training success.

Refund Policy

Training programs depend largely on the guardian’s commitment to and consistency of training. My cancellation and refund policies help me to help you remain consistent in your training. For this reason in almost all cases I do not offer refunds. Some medical conditions, some rehoming situations, and behavioral euthanasia can trigger a conversation about a refund.

Any refunds agreed upon will be subject to a processing fee of up to $100 to cover the administrative work of negotiating and executing the transaction.

Equipment Policy

To support your dog’s training and set your dog up for lasting, long-term training progress, we will not use aversive methods for training. This includes, but is not limited to, refraining from using spray bottles, choke collars, prong collars, “no bark” collars, electronic collars, and electric fences. If you have questions about why avoiding aversive methods is vital to your dog’s training progress, I am happy to answer all your questions in your dog’s training sessions.

If you have used any of these methods in the past or are using them now, you are welcome here. Please discontinue using them during our work together, even if you are using them for behaviors that you do not think are related to the goals that brought you to me. I will be happy to provide you with effective alternative methods.

COVID-related policies

Initial sessions are always virtual. After the initial consultation we will work together to decide what combination of in person in your home, in person in other places, and virtual sessions will help you move efficiently toward your goals.

Some behavior needs a foundation of training that is better done virtually. Most training goals can be efficiently and successfully addressed through virtual sessions. Some training goals and human learning styles benefit from in person sessions. We will make a plan that’s right for you.
