For years I have been helping folks help their dogs feel safer and calmer at vet visits, at grooming appointments, putting on their leashes, harnesses, muzzles, and more! I've taught folks how to help their puppies feel better about being touched and to prep their older dogs for vet procedures they might need.
Last year, as part of the PumpkinPups Dog Training team, I pledged to get my Fear Free certification in support of our new partnership with City Animal Veterinary Center. Earlier this month I completed the course and received my certificate!
Fear Free's mission is to help more vets, animal trainers, dog walkers, pet sitters, and animal guardians provide this same sort of help to their clients and their own pets. You can learn more about the mission here.
Milo waits patiently for a treat of ham while his person files his nails. They worked carefully to make sure that he opts in to the practice.
Having more information in my toolkit to help you and your pups reduce your stress around necessary care is one of the many aspects of dog training that I'm passionate about and I'm proud to have continued my learning in this area.
